Famous Quotes 28

“I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

~ Marilyn Monroe

I know she probably did not say this, like a lot of the quotations floating around the internet these days, as well as my last quotation post, but since we cannot pinpoint an original source I see nothing wrong with continuing the trend and attributing this little gem to this diamond. If you do not believe me about the debate of this quotation's origins, below is a link from the Snopes article, if you choose to believe this site as well, because these days, who are we to believe?

Most Wanted Posters - Sunday

~Never There~

When something is lost that was never there
It hurts to see it go
But then again it was never there
Only I should know

When it hurts because it was never there
The pain is too hard to stand
But since it will never be again
I'll remain as satisfied as I can

My Favorite Songs 41

This Is The Time ; Billy Joel ; The Bridge ; 1986

This Is the Time was released as the third single from Billy Joel's album The Bridge. The song reached No. 18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Billboard called it a “melancholy rock ballad from a doom-filled perspective.” Cash Box said that the “songwriting genius of Joel is in force again in this wistful, melodic ballad.”

This song will forever be one of my favorites, if not simply for its cool, soft, and predictable tones, falling asleep to it numerous nights as a youngling, not yet fully understanding the lyrics. I still get chills when he reaches the refrain; and I find it interesting, no—blindly or naively profound—how I did not know the impactfulness of the words on my adult life, or how I could not even comprehend it yet, but even as a young adult I could just sense how powerful and meaningful this song really was without truly appreciating it. And I find that almost magical.
