Famous Art 11

Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog ; 1817 ; Caspar David Friedrich

Man and Woman Contemplating the Moon ; c. 1824 ; Caspar David Friedrich

The Stages of Life ; c. 1834 ; Caspar David Friedrich

Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog is probably Caspar David Friedrich's most famous work, and I do enjoy it, but I tend to favor the latter two, my favorite being The Stages of Life; I love the juxtaposition between the ships and the subjects of the piece, and the levels of life's "unsteadiness" the water and the vessels represent to me.
