~The Decision Maker~

Who knows what turns in her mind.

I doubt even if she knows—

one day one feeling, the next another,

round and round her endless choice goes.

To him, she’s a captured princess

without a knight in shining armor.

Nothing, no one, not even herself

can unleash her savage purr.

It’s entrapped, locked away,

not for one man’s ear to fall.

How can someone, anyone call for help

down a never ending hall?

Her one everyday decision

become a timeless taker.

He tries to reach through her layer of glass;

her kiss could be her Decision Maker.

She won’t let him be her knight.

But is that what she actually wants?

She keeps him searching for some reason,

through her praises and her taunts.

She’s is sleeping beauty

and he’s petrified she’ll never wake.

But he’s positive an encounter with the Decision Maker

is all his heart could take.

Her stubborn ways and uncontrollable fears

keep the Decision Maker away.

He not only has to fight those

but the sand crystals that fall as they may.

But until the last one twists round the glass,

he’ll search every door.

Because she’s worth every eternity

and then a million more.

Maybe he’s not meant to be the sailor 

that saves her from her hostile port.

Maybe she’s not meant to be the maiden

that he would give his life to court.

All she is to do is scream four words

from her chamber of solitude.

He would stop his journey, his quest, 

and a different perspective would he allude.

He definitely would find the captured princess

and sit with her at times.

Until the presence of the knight who has the sword

to cut past her heart’s clenching vines.

But until she chants what his heart craves,

from her sleep, he’ll try to wake her.

And until a better idea comes along,

he’ll believe her kiss is the true Decision Maker.
